What is Reflexology?

A view of the clients feet on a treatment couch in Sarah Woodhouse's treatment room. Sarah is working on the clients feet and smiling.

Reflexology is an ancient technique where points on your feet, hands, or ears, are stimulated and massaged to tap into corresponding points in your body, working with its natural ability to restore balance and harmony to bring about an improvement in health and wellbeing.

What Are The Benefits of Reflexology?

Many of my clients come for Reflexology because it leaves them feeling restored and refreshed, ready to face the world by providing them with the space and time to relax and be.

Others use it to support them with specific health and wellbeing issues, or because they’re looking to use it as part of their proactive response to life-long health and wellbeing.

Whatever their reasons, many feel a positive change, and everyone leaves feeling relaxed and rebalanced with a sense of improved health and wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments will I need?

It really depends on what you want to use Reflexology for! If it's for a treat, then come as often as you want to. If you're seeking support for a specific issue then it may be a few back to back weekly sessions followed by some monthly maintenance sessions are what you need, or you may be content with once every 4-6 weeks. We'll discuss all of this at your first treatment and create a treatment plan that works for you.

What happens during a Reflexology Treatment?

Each treatment is tailored to you, and every treatment starts with a health and wellbeing consultation to identify the support you need. Nothing more is asked of you but to rest and be – and there’s no need to remove anything but your shoes and socks.

At the end of each session, we’ll discuss any additional support you might require, including aftercare guidance to help you make the most of your treatment.

Can I combine Reflexology with another treatment?

Absolutely. Many of my clients love the combination of Reflexology with a Holistic Facial - it's deeply relaxing and leaves you glowing from head to toe.

Can I have Reflexology if I have a fungal infection, athletes foot or verrucas?

If you have a verruca we can work around it, but I'm afraid if you have athletes foot or a fungal nail infection I can't offer you Reflexology at this time.

What can I expect after my Reflexology treatment?

What happens as a result of your Reflexology treatment very much varies from person to person - and on the reason you came! We can discuss all this at your treatment, or I'm happy to have a chat to you beforehand if you'd like. Just drop me a line at sarah@sarahwoodhousetherapy.co.uk or call / text me on 07715213392. What I can say is that whatever reason they came for, all my clients leave feeling super relaxed with an improved sense of health and wellbeing.

Is Reflexology ticklish?

Even if you have ticklish feet, it's unlikely you'll find reflexology ticklish.
