REFLEXOLOGY & BOWEN IN BURY ST EDMUNDS

Treatments

Choosing the right therapy for you is often as simple as a ‘gut’ feeling; the one that feels right.  You’ll find information here about each therapy, and I’m only a click away if you’d like a confidential chat before making your decision.

Reflexology

By stimulating and massaging points on the feet or hands that correspond to points in the body, I work with your own body’s ability to restore balance and harmony.

Bowen Therapy

With incredibly gentle moves, Bowen (also known as the Bowen Technique) is suitable for anyone of any age. Truly holistic in its approach, it works with the whole body, getting to the root cause of your situation or condition rather than just focusing on the symptoms.

The light and gentle moves used kick start the body’s own innate ability to heal itself, and for many of my clients the results have been profound and quick, with most needing no more than 3 treatments to resolve even long-standing conditions.

Ear Candling

Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them. As a counsellor my role is to provide space and guidance to help you on your journey of self-discovery; to enable you to examine your life and make new, meaningful choices within it.

You might wish to explore the use of Bowen Therapy or Reflexology as part of fertility journey. Many women also find them helpful during pregnancy and in preparing them for the birth of their baby: Gawri Motha, author of “The Gentle Birth Method” recommends both as great ways to support mum-to-be in relation to back pain, nausea, pubic and pelvic pain, mastitis, and for mothers who are tense or anxious.

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone have a treatment with you?

Whatever the age or reason for treatment it’s rare you will be unable to have a treatment. Just drop me a line if you have any particular concerns you’d like to discuss

What happens during a Reflexology treatment?

Whatever treatment you are having your appointment will always start with a detailed health and well-being consultation – the focus is on getting to the root cause of any problems or difficulties you are facing.

The beauty of Reflexology is all you need to do is sit back and relax while I work on the key reflex points on your feet.  For many people this is an opportunity to sit back and drift off, while others like to focus in on the treatment and ‘listen’ to their body’s response, while others like to talk – it’s your treatment!

At the end of the treatment we’ll discuss any questions or queries you have and ongoing support; whether this is further treatments or ways in which you can support yourself at home.

What happens during a Bowen Therapy treatment?

Whatever treatment you are having your appointment will always start with a detailed health and well-being consultation – the focus is on getting to the root cause of any problems or difficulties you are facing.

With Bowen the treatment can be performed skin on skin or through light clothing, and after 5-6 moves I leave the room for between 2-5 minutes to give the body a ‘break’.  This may sound slightly crazy, but when you look at it logically it makes sense – we are asking the body to start the healing process, and so are allowing the body to focus on the healing process and process those prompts, rather be overloaded by instructions or distracted by me standing in the room.

At the end of the treatment we’ll discuss any questions or queries you have and ongoing support; whether this is further treatments or ways in which you can support yourself at home.

How many treatments will I need?

This really depends on what you’ve come for support with!If it’s just some space and time to relax then this may be a one-off treat, or perhaps a regular monthly session as part of your holistic approach to long-term health and well-being.

If it’s for a specific issue then initially I’d recommend a short burst of treatments – much like going to the gym, you don’t walk in on your first session and walk out with a six pack.  So, I like to work in sets of 3, the first to start the change, the second to reinforce the change and make any adjustments, the third to reinforce the change and make any adjustments, each a week apart.

For most people this is enough to start seeing a positive, if not long-term, change, and from this point on we work together to decide a treatment plan that works for you.
